CAKE + EVENT DESSERT FAQ

How much cake do I need?
If cake is the only dessert, the safest bet is to order enough for each guest to have 1 piece. Often a few guests will leave before cake is served or be too busy on the dance floor, so aiming slightly low is usually not a problem. If you are offering a second substantial dessert (ex: ice cream cart, chocolate fountain, churros, etc.) guests will often choose one or the other so plan to serve somewhere between half and all of your guests a piece of cake.
How many mini desserts do I need?
If there are several desserts being served, 2-3 pieces per guest is recommended.
I want something non-traditional. What can you offer?
There’s many possibilities besides the quintessential tiered white wedding cake. Here’s a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing.
-Instead of a tiered cake, several cakes of different sizes and flavors on different colorful cake stands!
-Mini desserts make a big statement. Set up a dessert bar and offer many different options for guests to choose from. Pair this with a small cutting cake you can have the best of both worlds.
What are the options for cake design?
-We welcome all ideas and love to work collaboratively with you to customize your vision. The design is determined at your consultation. It is helpful if you come to the conversation with descriptions or pictures of things you like! But even concepts like “beachy” or “geometric” can be helpful in customizing your design. During or after our conversation, I will sketch your design for approval.
-By default, our cakes are frosted with vanilla buttercream. It is made with pure vanilla extract and butter and is a beautiful off-white color. If you would like another flavor or color we are happy to customize the perfect cake for your style. Will will try our best to match any color swatches provided, but perfect matches are never guaranteed. Temperature and humidity affect the way buttercream absorbs and expresses added pigment. We do not use fondant.

Can you add flowers to my cake?
-Yes! We love incorporating Moonrose Farm grown flowers, herbs, and greenery into designs. We always choose edible, non-toxic flowers grown without the use of any chemicals.
Where do you deliver?
-We deliver within 1 hour of Rehoboth
My wedding is outside in the summer, is a buttercream cake a good option?
Buttercream is temperature sensitive and will melt in excessive heat or sun. If your event is outdoors in the summer, we recommend opting for delivery as close to the time of the event as possible. Alternatively, keep the cake in a cool (or even refrigerated) space until cake service. Fresh flowers must be added on-site as close to the event as possible to minimize wilting. Mini desserts or pies are another great alternative if you are concerned about the heat.

Do you offer post-wedding brunch options or wedding favors?
-We offer several mini breakfast pastries to offer to guests at a post-wedding brunch or daytime event!
-The most popular wedding favor request is a small package of mini cookies. But we are happy to hear your ideas and see what is possible!
